Shaun's oldest brother, Lance, came to visit. He brought along his wife and daughter, too! a couple of his boys were attending EFY in Kirtland so after they dropped them off it was party time for us!
I took them to see some of the unique things to Ohio. Amish Country was top on the list.
There are SO many things you can see/ do in Amish country. I decided to take them to a place I haven't been before. It was called Yoder's Farm. At this farm you got to tour an old and "modern" Amish house, along with a model school house and go on a carriage ride. It was a lot of fun!
Lance, Kailee, and Miriam squished in the back
Claire and I in the front...
Lance and Miriam showed up for our second heat wave of the summer. It was SO SO SO hot!
But we still had a great time. Claire was tired and hot in this picture.
This is a Mennonite. She was raised Amish but converted to Mennonite because she didn't want as strict of a lifestyle. (You can't take pictures of Amish people)
The out house
Claire loved having uncle Lance feed her. She couldn't stop smiling!
Oh, so sweet!
I had to take a picture of the center piece that Miriam so kindly bought for us. ;)
We were in an Amish craft store and Miriam wanted to get a closer look at this "candy jar." Well, she took the lid off and it dropped to the ground and broke. Being the good person she is, she bought it. We decided to tell Shaun that Miriam got us a very special gift for our house.
As we took a closer look we realized that it is basically a flower pot with a fish bowl glued on with a homemade scrunchy in the middle. Of all the things to break. Haha!
The Crew!
We had such a great time with these guys! Claire absolutely loved having them here. It was fun to see her interact with them and to hear her "telling all her stories." What a fun week!
PS Shaun was around in the evenings but we were too busy playing games and having fun to get any pictures.
