All about Claire

I've been wanting to blog about Claire for awhile. Here are some fun things she does. :)

When she closes her eyes to pray she always scrunches up her face. So cute! We have even gotten her to help say the prayer a few times. If we mention Dad or Mom in the prayer she has to reach out and pat them.
She also loves to watch what Shaun and I are doing. She loves to sit on the counter and watch the action. She is a great helper and often helps me unload the dishwasher and do the laundry.
She loves to sit in tight places. Normally it's the diaper box but she found my grocery bag and had to wiggle her way in.
Anything that looks like she can sit on she tries to sit and calls it her bench. Nana sent her a sticker book for Halloween and she had to look at it everyday for several weeks.
I've been going through all the baby stuff getting ready for Girl #2. Claire was helping me and thought it was so fun to sit in the "baby car seat." She still loves to read books ALL of the time, too!
It seems as if we are always trying to encourage her to eat more. The last few months she has insisted on having her "friends" "watch her eat." We took advantage of this and used her animals as encouragement. This particular day you can see we have: Dora, tiger, teddy, dump truck and the horse. Silly girl.
She loves her "friends" that sleep with her in bed. One day after her nap I found she had started lining them up like so and talking to them.
She loves when Daddy comes home and loves to ride him and to play chase with the popper.
Some other things she says, does:
  • "I guess I can"
  • "Ummm, no."
  • "I'm being careful"
  • "Call Auntie"
  • See Peek a boo Santa
  • "Watch"
  • "Watch Wheel of Fortune"
  • Favorite songs: Once there was a snowman. I'm so glad when Daddy comes home. Jingle Bells. Silent Night
This has been a really fun stage to watch her become more independent and we are so excited to see her face once we decorate for Christmas!

Happy Halloween Pumpkin Style

This year has been a lot of fun for us! Claire has really loved wearing her Halloween shirts and socks

Check out these darling spider socks from Auntie
Claire found my pumpkin socks in the drawer and was obsessed. She would even climb in the laundry basket to find them. ;) Don't mind the post nap hair.

I found Claire's costume at a used kids store for $1.99. SCORE! Then Shaun and I made our own pumpkin shirts to match. Claire has been obsessed with pumpkins so it was a perfect costume for her. This was right before our ward Trunk or treating. We had a dinner and talent show that night. Claire surprised everyone by singing "The Wheels on the Bus," in the microphone in front of the entire ward. I was holding her up and she even did the actions. Such a cutie!

Halloween turned out to be a very rainy day. When I was driving to my OB appoint Halloween morning I saw a sign that there was trick or treating at a rest home. When the rain continued we decided to check it out. It was a blast! Claire loved visiting with the residents and saying, "trick or treat."

They also had a coloring station where the kids could color a picture and have a cookie and punch. It was such a welcoming environment.

One night for FHE we made a paper pumpkin

Claire had fun watching Shaun cut up the pumpkins. She even tasted some of the cooked seeds.
Showing off her "kitty" shirt

The kids got to wear their costumes to story time this week. The theme was actually pumpkins so Claire was even more thrilled. It has been a great October at the Brodericks!
