Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day as a mom was great! Shaun made me an amazing breakfast (cinnamon swirl french toast that is pretty close to Kneaders' recipe). It was delicious!!!! Then, church was wonderful because the men took over the primary and let the women enjoy being together. We had a wonderful spiritual message. Here is a link to the message we heard from Sister Beck. LOVED IT! http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2007/10/mothers-who-know?lang=eng&query=b.+(name%3a%22David+L.+Beck%22+OR+name%3a%22Julie+B.+Beck%22) and then some  great food. I am so grateful to be a mom and to have such great mother examples in my life. My mom, my grandma's and my mother-in-law are all sweet women who have played a great role in who I am becoming. I sure love them and am grateful for who they are and what they stand for.

I feel so blessed that this cutie will call me mom. When she can talk, that is. Ü

Claire 8 months old

Claire is now eight months old. She is really growing up. She is almost sleeping through the night, YEAH. The last week or two she has become extremely busy. She is very "talkative" and loves to be involved in what is going on around her. She is really funny about her hands and fingers. When she picks up a toy or touches something like my face or my shirt she has to bend her thumb back and forth on it before she starts really playing with it. We joke that she has to give it the "thumbs up" first. Ü
She got pink eye two weeks ago and her weigh in with all of her clothes on was 14.2LBS. Still little but definitely growing. She is now wearing 3-6 month clothing. On Sunday she finally fit into her 0-3 shoes.
She loves the exersaucer and can now sit up on her own for longer periods of time. I often will put the boppy around her so if she loses her balance she doesn't crash to the floor.

She still loves to snuggle
The other day after I was done feeding her she peaked over and saw Shaun in the kitchen. She immediately started playing peak a boo. She would look at him and then bury her head in my chest hiding her eyes, then look up again. It was so fun to watch.

The only thing she doesn't love is food. I have to mix more breast milk than food for her to even take a bite.

We just had her pictures taken by our good friend Allison. We can't wait to see more. I love her little whispies around her ears. Notice her hair is no longer standing on end. It is getting long enough to lay down now.

Just chilling on the boppy. I was playing with instagram. I also spend some time this month making her some new hair bows. These corker ones were much easier than I initially thought.

One of my favorite things lately is Claire putting her hand on her cheek. When she was a newborn I would put my hand on her cheek as she sucked the pacifier. My mom told me that they love the skin sensation. Claire really loved it and now when she gets tired she will put her pacifier in and then hold her own hand to her cheek. When she is really tired she put both hands on her cheek. What a sweetie!

Side note-we just started putting her to bed unswaddled. It was time... just so hard not to wrap her up because she would sleep so much better-until she got her arms out. So I had to bite the bullet. We are still transitioning and some naps are better than others but I guess it's just another sign my baby is getting big.

Love this girl!

Shaun's Hobby

Shaun has LOVED working in his garden. I think it is good relaxation time for him. And it has been SO awesome to see everything growing so nicely. We have already enjoyed a lot of spinach and some delicious green salads. Can't wait for more fresh goodness coming our way! Thanks honey for all of your work. Ü
