Happy 4th of July! Shaun and I have been working all summer and besides the APS trip (see below) we haven't been able to get away. So we had a blast at my Grandparent's Ranch in Swan Valley, Idaho.
Swan Valley, Idaho is SO beautiful. This is not to be confused with Sun Valley, the resort. Swan Valley, is still very rural but only about 45 minutes from Jackson Hole.
Here are the highlights:

We have always been close to my mom's sister's family, The Barkers. So they decided to join us for the camp out! It was so fun to reconnect with my cousins. They are awesome. There is even one that is my little brother's age. So they had a blast playing together, too.

My Dad and brother Ben took us canoeing down the Snake River everyday. The River is about 50 yards from my Grandparent's house. We saw Eagles fly above our heads and just listened to Mother nature. We saw an amazing water fall, too.

We actually slept in tents, Too. Of course we used Grandma's bathrooms and Shower, but I will still claim that we were "roughing it." Ü

Swan Valley is know for one thing: The home of the square Ice Cream cone. We had to initiate Shaun into the town, right? So we went to get one.
Another main attraction is the "DAM store." Swan Valley is about 5 miles from the Palisades dam. When we were out for a drive my brother, BEN, made sure we stopped there, too. Bytheway, it was a really run down store.

One night we got creative and went in the cow pasture to practice golfing. My little brother, Joseph, was so into this. The next day he even recruited Heather to search through the weeds to retrieve all of the balls. To her dismay by the time she had collected some he had already thrown the others back. Joseph & heather are quite the pair. Ü (no cows were hurt during this activity)

We also had a great time hiking up to my Grandpa's Dry Farm. He has such an awesome view of the valley. It is so hard to even describe because it is so pretty. This is where my mom grew up so it is always great to hear the stories about how life was on a farm... a lot of hard work everyday! My Grandpa is retired but still raises cows. (Thankfully they didn't stink up the place.) Ü

On the 4th of July we went to the regional fireworks. It was so nice. You just go there, relax to a simple firework show and make it home in five minutes because the traffic is so light. I said simple show because the fireworks seemed to be hand lit. One firework...pause three more fireworks...pause, etc. My Aunt Leisa kept saying it was the finale because all of a sudden they would have ten fireworks all at once. We still LOVED it, though. Ü
Overall it was the perfect get away... quiet, relaxing, and great to spend time with the family.
Thanks Family for being so awesome!
